Accessibility

Losvik should work for everyone. This page says where the municipality of Losvik and KOS stand on accessibility: what we've tested, and what we know isn't good enough yet.

Not a formal statement

The municipality of Losvik is fictional and run by Losol AS, a private business. The formal accessibility statement that Norwegian public bodies publish on uustatus.no therefore doesn't apply to us. This page is our own status report. Our aim is WCAG 2.1 at level AA.

How we've tested

Last tested 2026-10-03.

  • Automatically: axe-core, with the rules for WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 at levels A and AA, on the pages that are open to everyone: the front page, the privacy statement, the rules, this page, the chat for visitors and the page for a single message. Both the light and the dark theme.
  • By keyboard: the order is logical, and what has focus is clearly shown.
  • Narrow screens: the pages can be used at a width of 320 pixels without scrolling sideways.

We haven't tested these yet:

  • The pages behind sign-in: My page, the citizen page, admin and the chat for citizens.
  • Use with a screen reader.
  • The app. It hasn't been released yet.

What we know isn't good enough

  • Too little contrast in the light theme (WCAG 1.4.3). The "Soon" tag at the bottom of the page has a contrast of 1.3:1, where 4.5:1 is required. The subtle text, such as the headings at the bottom of the page and the times in the chat, has 4.47:1 and falls just short. In the dark theme the contrast is good enough.
  • The headings at the bottom of the page skip levels. That makes it harder to find your way by headings with a screen reader.
  • No "skip to content" link. In the chat, the keyboard takes you through the list of rooms before the messages.
  • A pixel font in the headings. Some find it hard to read. The body text uses an ordinary font.
  • What citizens write in the chat we can't promise is accessible, for example links without a describing text.

The first two are in our design system and are fixed there.

Tell us

If something doesn't work for you, or you need the content in another way, write to Loading email address …. It helps to say which page it is and what assistive technology you use.

If we don't help

If you can't use all or part of Losvik because it isn't universally designed, you can complain to Diskrimineringsnemnda, the Norwegian Anti-Discrimination Tribunal. Tilsynet for universell utforming av ikt (Uutilsynet) supervises the rules.
